In the past my rolls of TMAX 100 have always come out slightly to very purple. And while it didn't seem to affect image quality substantially, it irritated me hugely.
So, I actually read the TMAX data sheet, the whole thing. It said fixer needed to be replenished more often - so I made new fixer. It also said to wash more.
So, I read ALL the data for Ilford Washaid, and changed to a 1 min water wash, followed by 3 min washaid wash, followed by 5 min water wash (before I was washing with Hustler hyporemover for 4 minutes, water for 5), and was careful to keep water temperature within 5 deg of room temp (rather than cold), and PRESTO purple colour gone. I'm very happy.
Honestly, the negatives look a lot better - basically colourless. I mean, I could SEE purple water leave the tank after the washaid step. I like washaid now. I bet the negatives will enlarge better now too.
Read your data sheets.

Data sheets? No way man. That is no more than information that is scientifically derived by film scientists working in a research lab using very sophisticated measuring equipment. What motivation does a manufacturer have to to try to help you achieve the best results using their product? You are much better off trusting some anonymous internet poster who wants the world to know him as "coolLeicadude" and shows his location as "way out there". I mean he has much more knowledge than Kodak, Ilford, or Fuji. Right?
In all seriousness, I have been amazed for years that some will refuse to acknowledge that Kodak knows how to develop Tri-X after 50+ years or that Ilford knows anything about HP5.
