Ok im desperate now, I really need a lens hood for my yashica gsn, I got a hand full of shots like the one below that are messed up because of lack of hood. :bang: I saw one at a local store but it covered up half the framing area and the light meter so that obviously isn’t gona work. What are the yashica peeps here doing for hoods on these wonderful gsn’s?

PM me in a couple of days, I have a guy who sells not auctions thru Ebay. Cheap and effective. If I can dig up his address you get it.

BTW your shot.... you are shooting almost at 90 degrees into the sun. Few lenses can handle that. FWIW if I had been shooting this one I would have moved into the shade on the left frame even if I did have a lens hood. ... These lenses have one flaw, they are not coated Leitz lenses.... but the price is much better than Leitz.. ;- )

I've seen a few sell on eBay pretty cheap. I've also seen entire cameras (with hood) sold cheap because the warranty was "as is, no returns". As a matter of fact I just bought an Electro 35 for 99 cents that was obviously damaged on the lens so I could get the baseplate (for a piece I want to build for one of my good cameras) and the screw in battery cap for one I am missing. Just a thought.

This cost me 97p and about 5 mins of my time:

You may also put your hand above the lens to shield the almost direct sunrays, but this is hard to do with a rangefinder and you might get a pic with your fingers ...
