I have an el cheapo $30 LTM to NEX adapter that works great. Not as well made as a Rayqual or Voitlander, but adequate. The only real concern I have is that the NEX side of the mount appears to be anodized aluminum, and may wear at some point to where the mount gets loose. Only time
will tell.

I finally got myself NEX3 for cheap in a christmas deal. I am waiting my cheapo M adapter...I may build a business for myself as those are still quite expensive in europe! 🙂 around 600Euro, buy and sell 🙂)

I use LTM lens on the NEX, but with an M adapter, and LTM to M adapter on the lens. The adapter can stay on the NEX (unless I want to use an E mount lens), and there is a nice pin release on this adapter (R/J brand?).
This adapter is a tad thin, in that it allows slightly past infinity focus. However, this is not a problem with the NEX, and from many threads here and elsewhere, many folks are not fully getting the best sharpness possible from their expensive lens, because they are not focusing to infinity, even though infinity may be showing in focus in a legacy RF system. This can affect the close focus by a bit, especially with ultra-wides, but with LTM lenses with adapters, this can be fine tuned and optimized.
It's like a hot water faucet, you don't know the optical temperature for a shower unless you can go a bit too hot, then back off ...

I actually don't see any difference between the el cheapo adapter and my Voitlander M to NEX adapter with a leica LTM to M adapter attached. Maybe I got lucky with the cheap one. Inspires me to do a side by side comparision, though.

On yours, can you to or past infinity? I'm not sure how you'd ever really know if you can focus to infinity, if you can't focus past infinity.
You can always try focusing on the moon, but that is not near infinity.

I had the same experience. The expensive adapter seems better made but they both work fine.😀

I have only played around with infinity focus with Contax RF 85mm, 135 and 180mm lenses; they seemed to focus to infinity using an Amedeo to M adapter coupled with the Voitlander adapter. At least, the images were sharp, which suggests accurate focus. Worked well on the Contax 85/2 wide open.

I got me the NEX-3 for three reasons:
1. I don't care about HD video.
2. I like the size of the 3 better.
3. The price!
Love the cam!
Now, I wish that Sony would market a 1.8/28 in E-mount. 😉

Has anyone used the VC 12mm or 15mm M/LTM lenses with their NEX bodies..I'm interested to know how they work together.

I haven't used them myself, but I've seen tons of various threads with examples. Sharpness seems to be pretty good, but, like with nearly any rangefinder lens under 30mm on NEX, they have quite a bit of purple color shift at the edges, so you'll need to correct your images with Cornerfix.
Honestly, many of the people that I've seen with these lenses end up reverting back to the Sony 16mm (and the wide converter.)

the articulated screen was very important factor in my decision to get the 5.
My M lenses do not lock into the cheapo Nex to M adapter i got on ebay. It works but I don't trust it since the lens is not locked in. Then again it was twenty bucks.
I hope the next firmware will give the option of displaying blown highlights. (flashing)

I guess that's what I've been hearing/reading as well. I shoot the 2.8/25mm Biogon with regularity and don't want to loose that focal length but sometimes I wish I had a digital. Suppose I should get the 16mm kit.

Yeah, unfortunately the 16mm won't hold a candle to your ZM 25, but I still find it usable, considering its size and price. I happen to use a ZM 35/2.8 most of the time on NEX, and it is exceptional.

??? The Nex-3 also has an articulated screen.
