Recent Saul leiter talk

Saul Leiter was undeniably one of the greats. I feel sorry that he seemed at least partly overlooked through much of his career. It is hard to think of another photographer who had his mastery of color and moment, just as, say HCB was a master of black and white and the decisive moment.

Saw the exhibition at the Photographers Gallery (London) last weekend and it was wonderful. It ends on Sunday so if you get a chance do drop in and take a look (if you arrive before midday it's free, otherwise £3 entry).

Thanks to Michael for the link and for the heads up at the Photographers Gallery. I will try to get there tomorrow.

Not to diminish Saul Leiter but I would offer up Ernst Haas and Harry Gruyaert as photographers who have similar mastery of color and movement.

I love Leiter as well but he certainly is not sui generis.

Appreciated this link - just watched the 'talk' and certainly saw some images I hadn't seen before - thanks.
