I've got a 1957 rigid chrome Summicron 50/2. Although it takes good pictures, the soft coatings on the front element are really scratched up.
Do people get their elements recoated?
If so, can anyone suggest where I could get this done, and how much it might cost?
Thanks!
Ben

Hi,
Came across this from one of the better Leica repairers in the UK. It's not cheap.

Thanks for posting that link, Kim. I will take much more care of my front elements from now on. Just the pictures of the process are scary, let alone the price (he does fix Her Maj's Leicas, though).
