U could always check w/Fedka.com if
you want to get a decent FSU lens
like a J-3 or maybe a J-8 both
50mm. I've used him before for
other items. Several members here
have recommended him in the past.

That CV 35/2.5 is a very nice lens, particularly at the price.
If you are trying to stay under $500, I don't see how you could go wrong with it, unless you need something that can handle dim lighting a bit better. In that case, either of the CV */1.4 (35mm or 40mm) lenses would be solid choices.

If you like the 50mm format, you could go with an older 50 rigid summicron.

Look for a screw mount Jupiter-8 ( 50mm f2 ), an Industar 61 L/D (53mm f2.8), or a really cheap Helios-103 (50mm f1.8). These lenses are at least as good as my old Summitar, but you can have all the three (plus change for the lens adapter...) for the price of a Summitar.

Enjoy your "new" camera!

The Helios is Contax/Kiev mount. I don't think you'll find one in LTM. If you do, tell me where to look. That's one of the best damn lenses I ever used.

Canon f1.8 / 35

Hi,

I have just bought a summicron 35 IV and am sadly parting with my Canon f1.8 / 35. I bought the Canon f1.8 / 35 from Sherry last year so it comes cleaned and vetted. If you are interested please let me know.

Thanks

Richard

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Canon 50s. The 50/1.4 is excellent and if that is too expensive the 50/1.8 can often be had for just a little over US$100 and it is also a fantastic lens. You will need an adapter for either.

The CV color skopar 35/2.5 is the deal of the decade.
