Recommend me a 3-rd party 35mm lens

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a 35mm lens for my Minolta XD-7. The Minolta 35 f/2.8 is a good option but it doesn't come up on that auction site very often and when it does is a bit on the expensive side.

Has any of you used any non-Minolta 35mm lens that can recommend?

Have you tried any Tamron lenses (with adapter for Minolta)?

I used the 28 f/2.8 but i feel that the sigma wide-mini I have already is a bit better. I haven't used its 35mm sibling though.
Is this sigma that I am thinking to replace, I have a minolta AF 28 f/2.8 that will be my 28mm choice.

Vivitar made a 35/2.8 in most fittings, so I'd be surprised if it weren't available for a Minolta.

I haven't used that lens, but I do have a Vivitar zoom tele for my OM2SP, which is really good.

I just checked e-bay and there is a boxed 35mm f2.8 Minolta Celtic with an opening bid of 29.99 at 2 days 8 hours left with no bids yet.

Then I looked again and see your in the UK so shipping might be a extra expense.

Have you tried ebay Germany? Minolta was quite popular over here.
And here's a MD35 from a reputable dealer in Hamburg.

I can thoroughly recommend the Vivitar 35mm f2.0 if you can find one in the right fit.
