Needs to hold:

2 M bodies and 3 M Mount lenses, a small flash and at least 5 rolls of film, plus room for some Misc.

Open to any shoulder bag, messenger bag, sling or backpack. please advise.:D:confused::D

This is what I use for that sort of kit.

Artisan & artist ACAM-1000. Mine's brown, bought when they had them on clearance at popflash a couple yrs ago. They're too expensive now, but they really are a great bag for two bodies and several lenses.

Well, it depends on your taste.

My taste leans to the utterly utilitarian with nothing remotely decorative. Also I hate leather bags and anything remotely fancy.

I like Domke and M-Classic. Also Courierware.

But your taste may be different - can you be more specific besides the capacity of the bag? Any no-nos (zippers, velcro, etc...)

Wotancraft Etan

Wotancraft Etan

The Etan will work just fine, and the redesigned version also has a padded sleeve compartment in the rear suitable for a full-size iPad:

Hi,

I'd suggest you have a look at the Think Tank Retrospective line - canvas shoulder bags which definitely does not look like your average camera bag.

I'm using the smallest - the Retrospective 5 - and it fits two bodies and three lenses (provided two of them are mounted on the bodies), a few rolls of film, some filters and a light meter. That's it, though - I don't think adding a fourth lens is viable. Oh well, that's what coat pockets are for.

One padded main compartment with movable dividers, an outer, unpadded compartment for film and the like, two zip-locked pockets, one internal, one external. Velcro flap.

The shoulder strap is long enough for it to be slung diagonally across the chest of a big guy (I'm 6'8" or so) and still be properly positioned against your hip.

Approx USD150.

I've had mine for a year and used it extensively - the shoulder strap is well padded and it is as comfortable to carry as one can expect a shoulder bag to be; added bonus (for me, YMMV) is that it doesn't look like a camera bag - more like an army surplus man-purse.

A bit heavy, but otherwise extremely nice.

I recently picked up a Courierware Walking Bag (not the Incognitio), large size, because I like deeper bags. I put a Clik insert in it (zip top). Materials and build are absolutely outstanding. Seriously, it seems like this guy counts stitches. Forms to the body, and and is the least "camera bag" looking bag I've been able to find. Oh, and the nylon is weather resistant.

I use the ACAM 1100, mischievously subtitled the Evans Walker. It is very compact and fits this kit. I have been hiking with this, two M film bodies, four lenses, the biggest being the 90 Elmarit M. It will fit the 135 f4 instead. Plus film, blower, light meter and three rolls of film. Today I walked to a meeting with the M9 and a 50 and a 28 only and it wasn't so bulky I wanted to leave the bag behind, and it was certainly light. The shoulder strap has a long soft grippy pad. I have had this for four years and there is very little wear. A great bag. It cost me $207. Considering how often I have wasted that amount of money, I consider it great value as it works and I still have it and have not tried another.

Crumpler Sebang Outpost

I had a look at the Crumpler Sebang Outpost (S) today. It might not be big enough for the OP but looks like a great bag for a small rangefinder kit. It was very comfortable worn sling style and the quick strap adjustment worked well.

cheers,
clay
