I have a nice Rollei 35 that has a stuck meter. At least I think its stuck. The meter needle moves as I recompose but the larger needle with the circle at the end doesn't move when I change shutter/aperture/ASA.
Google brings up this place which is really close to me:
www.rolleirepairs.com
but they don't directly mention the 35 and the one page that references it seems to be a referral to www.criscam.com.

Don't use the meter. I think the batteries for it are no longer available. Use a small handheld or learn to work without.
Great camera.

Certainly you can use the meter. Buy an alkaline 625 and set the film speed one stop lower; or buy a Wein 625, which gives the correct voltage; or (easiest and cheapest of all) buy a pack of 675 hearing aid batteries, which also give the correct voltage. I don't even think you need to worry about the smaller size of the 675 battery; you should have sufficient contact to make it work.
Actually, here's the best thing of all -- buy a Wein cell, which is nothing more than a 675 hearing aid battery with a metal washer around it to make it fit a 625 sized compartment. When the Wein cell dies, which it will in a few months since it's a hearing aid battery, pop the washer off and insert a 675 hearing aid battery inside.
rolleirepairs.com is Harry Fleenor, right? He's got a great reputation, but assuming he works on the Rollei 35 he does have a backup. I suggest you try krimarphoto.com, who's amazingly quick.

If Krimar declares my Rollei 35 S that took superb pictures defunct, can I have another opinion? Who has tried Essex Camera Repair in NJ?

Rollie 35 works with CRIS battery adapter and 1.5 volt silver oxide.
The other solutions are poor for various reasons. Alkeline cells change voltage constantly. The Wein cell needs to have air holes recovered when not in use to preserve life and you can not get to it if film is in the camera,
Some cameras do not work well with the CRIS Adapter, but the 35 is not one.
