I am thinking of buying some FSU cameras and lenses on evil bay. But I am kind of iffy buying from just any Russian or Ukranian seller. Can anyone recommend sellers who you have personally had positive transactions with? Thanks and wish me (and my credit card) luck!

Alex-photo is a well trusted FSU seller.

Your better chances are with new sellers having 100% feedback.

Kubanoid is good. Cupog (from Slovakia) usually has some FSU cameras which have been CLA'ed. If you are in the U.S. you might also consider Fedka (www.fedka.com). Given the declining value of the dollar and the cost of shipping his prices may be competitive with the more reputable FSU sellers.

Thanks for the recommendations
I feel more confident getting the recommendations from you guys than basing it on Ebay's feedback ratings.

I have never had any problem with Russian or Ukrainian sellers. I found them responsive on the e-mail and very reasonable.
Some of those I've bought from lately:
photo_bumer
leon1965jazz
alex-photo
confdntart
radni07
valdemar1961
photobuc
Your mileage may vary! Always look carefully at the whole posting since their English may be confusing or look contradictory sometimes. Also I guess that many people cannot tolerate the one-month or more typical shipping time and leave neutral feedback. I am patient and have got some great bargains that way.

If you want to avoid the auction site and buy from a dealer with a good reputation, try Yuri at FEDKA.COM. I bought an LTM Jupiter 12 from him and he offered good advice and delivered with a fine lens. He may be a little higher-priced than the auction, but I would deal with him again if the need arose.

I agree with Julio1fer, I have bought, and continue to buy, cameras and watches from Russian and Ukrainian sellers - so far without a problem.

This is the "sellers reviews" page on ussrphoto.com. Some good info there. I have had good luck with alex-photo; vladimar1961 and others as well. Anyway, good "hunting"....

I have made a couple of purchases from Russia recently which both went very well.
A good useable ( with the obvious rangefinder CLA ) FED 2 from ebay 'sovietarmystuff' and also from ebay a nice Jupiter 3 from 'Grizzly33bear' which focuses well but will need re-lubing as soon as I can manage to stop playing with it. I have since discovered FEDKA and I think with hindsight it may well be worth buying a CLA'd camera/lens from him if only for the piece of mind and speedy delivery. Russian buys can take 4 weeks + to arrive and then quality is something of a gamble.
hope this helps

Oleg doesn't do much on the 'bay, but is an excellent
repairer, and offers quality products at realistic prices.

I can only agree with this! One thing about Oleg: his site may not seem to have much there but I have had excellent results by emailing him and asking for specific stuff. Whether or not there is something listed in his for sale pages.
Another seller I like quite a lot is:

Valdis is very good to deal with; honest, quick communication, excellent packing.
