Recovering from disc surgery.

Posti, best wishes for a rapid recovery. My daughter who is an orthopaedic surgeon has told me that properly done this is an easy operation as opposed to a ruptured disc which is another matter altogther. Greyhoundman should seek medical help before things get totally out of hand. Best wishes to you both.

Good luck on your recovery. I had some back issues about 12 years ago. Started weight training and yoga. No problems since. I even took photos in some of my yoga classes. I shall refrain from commenting on how attractive these women are.

you have photos of the yoga class.......?Feel free to share....

First of all, thanks for the comments and your stories. Hope it turns out well for all of you suffering from similar medical problems.

Myself, after two weeks post-op, I'm going to have the surgical staples removed this Thursday. Hot & humid weather and small holes around your wound doesn't help at all! Sweat tends to get trapped in those small punctures. And the wound is shaped like a second arse-crack so it acts like a drain, pardon my rather vulgar expression. Fortunately the wound has closed nicely and no infection has set in. So if you're going to have the same surgery done to you: remember to shower every day or even twice if the weather so requires. And between the washing, use antiseptic fluids to keep the incision clean!

I feel just great, both physically and emotionally. The immediate post-op stiffness went away after about 4 days and my muscles in my back adapted to the situation. Actually, I feel a bit too good, in a postive sense since it's like I didn't even have the surgery. Of course, the bad sciatica symptoms are gone. But I've recovered quite nicely so far that I need to remind myself that I'm still recovering. So no sudden twists and bends for further two weeks.

On a even more lighter note, I received first negatives out of my newly acquired Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/16 and they turned out lovely! Too bad I don't have a scan to prove my claims, so you'll just have to take my word for it... :) (It's performance @ f/6,3 isn't all that bad, no matter what they say!)

Tomorrow, on Wednesday (actually today, it's already past midnight here) I'll get more processed negatives from the same camera. Expect to see scans next month, I'll be buying an Epson V700. A good way to pass time since I've accumulated tens after tens of processed rolls...

Cheers,

Tuomo
