I now have two red dots on my m8, one at the front and a second one in the extreme left upper corner of the lcd, does any ony else have this second dot ?
is this a dead pixel ?
It only shows on the information bar, not while displaying a full or enlarged image.
Best Regards

WOW! Given how much price premium that first Red Dot commands, your M8 must be REALLY expensive!
Seriously though it's probably a stuck pixel, you'll have to decide whether it bothers you enough to send it in -- if it even qualifies as a defect given that stuck pixels are quite common, unfortunately.

Can anyone tell me what Leica's dead/stuck pixel policy is with regard to a new M8?
What, in the manufacturer's mind, constitutes unsuitable for sale.

try rubbing out the hot pixel on the LCD by applying pressure with your finger. If the a clear cover on the LCD, you'll need to remove that of course.

It's not a stuck pixel. It only appears when an image is being displayed and it's brightness depends upon the scene content. It's not present on any of the menu functions. I guess it's a quirk of the firmware.
