Refurbished Rd-1s back on Epson site

i'm taking the crap shoot once again:eek: first 2 refurbs had big problems so i hope the 3rd is a charm!

don't forget to use the code for 10% off FS8F.

My order is listed as
"Status: Order is under review"
However, called my CC and they said they approved the charge.

Is this normal?
Do I have to call epson, and if so.. whats the number?

I have one available for sale. Due to the delivery of my M8, my refurbished RD-1 is available, with upgraded firmware, and warranty. Had it less then 1 month. Very little use. Works perfectly. $1350 shipped within the CON US. PM if interested.

Took the plunge after this morning's pleasant surprise -- As has been the morning ritual, I checked the refurb page -- my heart stopped when that Epson page said "In Stock" :)

Called Epson and CC company... Everything looks good, but my fingers are still crossed.

Looking forward to being a more involved member rather than a lurker.

Yes, it's normal, but I would call anyway. The number is on the refurb Web site.
RTFM, as we used to say in the old days. :)

Still in stock. Got one. Came here after I got it and found this thread.

What are the chances that I figure "I live in the West coast, never going to see it in stock" and send a check for Kiliii's R-D1 yesterday? Oh well. I figure I can sell this to a friend or on Ebay later on for a few bucks more just for the job of reloading the Epson site every hour, every day, for the last two weeks...

I think I was the first order and went to bed thinking I had a backup ordered. Then this morning, I get an email saying that the credit card info was wrong (was I sleepy when I entered my info?) and my purchase was cancelled!

Oh, the injustice!

One thing puzzles me: Where are all these refurbished Rd-1s coming from? These are expensive cameras that few people buy. The return rate must be high to have so many refurbished ones to go around.

I advised before that Epson's credit card verification system is wonky.

Even if your phone number is good, it will sometimes kick out the order.

That's why if you ordered a refurb, get on the phone with them immediately, insist that your order not be cancelled no matter what, and that they hold a camera for you.

I had the very unpleasant experience of losing a refurb twice before I did this and secured the order. Speak to a human immediately after ordering online or 7 or 8 hours after you order you'll get the annoying email that your order was cancelled and there are no more cameras.....
