ijonas said:- if at all possible, use a DSLR. I wouldn't dream of shooting another wedding on film, and spending the next 4 weeks scanning in 500 photographs, doing basic adjustments in photoshop, and then organising them into print sizes. A DSLR just excels at this type of work, believe me!
Great advice all around, and thanks for that! A DSLR is out of the question for now. And in any case, then I'd have to have a complete new set of lenses, etc. No thanks. I can scan 500 negs - done it before!

Bill, I hope you have the venerable Vivitar 283 flash and a braket for the reception.
Here's a link to one of my weddings, where I had very limited gear:

I have a Vivitar 285 HV and I'll pick up a second one just in case. Stroboframe flip-flash and I'll pick up another of those as well.
I originally bought the 285 flame thrower for my Big Fuji - the Fujica G690 120 roll film 6x9 cm rangefinder - wow what a camera - but...it is sick now. Can't be depended upon, sadly.
But the flash really lights up the town - and can be dialed down, of course.
Thanks for the link!
