A small amount of brown rust has emerged on the threaded metal that's just under the rewind knob of my M6. This came about some weeks after the camera was splashed with a bit of sea water.
I'd consider myself an able do-it-yourself person, and it looks straightforward enough: Two small flat screws appear to be all that holds that knob in place.
Unscrew those, remove the knob, take off the rust with a fine wire brush, right? And no, the rust is not affecting any function of the camera.
Do it? Don't do it? Steve, you're just being a nit-picking idiot?
Your advice and experiences are appreciated.
P.S. When the folks at the SeaWorld San Diego say those seats near the dolphin show are in the "Soak Zone" not the "Splash Zone" ... pay attention. I didn't. Thus the post.
