Does anyone know how to remove the optical block from an I-61 L/D? I did it once with a zebra non-L/D version once essentially on accident, but now I have one that I need to look at to see if it has fungus in it. I think I see a little mixed with with some specks of dirt/dust, but I'm unsure. I may want to let the lens go along with the way, way off FED-5C Olympic Edition it came on, but I'm worried no one in their right mind would pay any money for a camera and lens that needed to be CLA'd.

This should help.

So is there not a way to just pop the block out? I remember removing the rear light baffle and then it unscrewing. Doing it just now made the aperture mark not line up with the click stops.

If memory serves me correctly (and it might not!), remove that rear baffle and behind it is a retaining ring. Undo it and the block falls out the front. Or, hold it still and unscrew the block. Watch out for the shim(s).
