Removing lettering on Bessas?

Just curious if anyone has found a good method of removing the white lettering on the Bessas? I like the look of the camera (at least the front) all black.

I've done that also. I actually had an M7 and an M6TTL before (and miss them!) and used electrical tape to do the same thing but I'd like to really take the lettering off, not just cover it, hence the question. I tried a "Sharpie" marker on the white lettering on the side grip, but it doesn't do a good job covering and the marker ink shines.

Sounds good, but unfortunately, the letters are virtually flush, not white paint in a depression. They appear to have been applied over the initial black paint. This, of course, doesn't mean it's not doable, I was just hoping to be find a method to be able to gently scrape or use a solvent to get rid of the letters. All my Bessas are virtually brand new so I'm not sure what's under the black paint.

If the logo is a silk-screening type logo, you can use a solvent to wipe it off and that solvent won't destroy the black paint since they are in different materials. I have tried to remove a silk-screening logo before (according to the info. of a manufacturer in Hong Kong), but I don't know the English name of that solvent. However, there may be a slight outline of the letters remained. The important thing is checking the material of the logo. Good luck! 🙂

After read this topic, i try to use some TAMIYA paint to cover the word.....
It's work and wonderful because u can use TAMIYA THINNER to erase it without damage the original words!
I use TAMIYA enamel paint flat black (XF-1) mix with a little bit TAMIYA thinner X-20 on my R3a,
it's perfect macth the colour and shine!
I test the "shine amount" and the "erase(backup)" under the camera, the COSINA logo! hahaha~

AS an ex-English professor (thank God it's over with) I would say your English works well. The main job of any language is to communicate accurately and clearly, and your post does all of that. It got the job done.

Now, my question is this: Where do you get Tamiya paint?

Any good model/hobby store should carry it. Or, click here!
