Hey all,

I just got back from an outing in the woods today and aparently I've gotten some pine sap residue on part of the leatherette of my Zeiss Ikon RF. Was wondering the best way to get it off.

I had heard alcohol would work but havnt tried it. Also tried (believe it or not) mayonaise will work well. Anyone have any suggestions? It's somewhat tacky and I'd like to be able to get it off.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Where can you purchase goo-gone or goo-off at? A hardware store or some place such as a wal-mart or other 'general' store?

The easiest way is to wet your finger with a bit of WD-40 and gently rub the spot. The WD-40 seeps underneath the sap and lifts it off. Then clean off the WD-40. Mild soap works.😀

I don't know if you can get it where you are but T-tree oil is amazing stuff. I actually use it to clean Vulcanite or leatherette or whatever you want to call it on all my cameras. It may be a uniquely Australian product I'm not sure ... but it's really effective! 🙂
