I need to remove the top cover from my FED 3 (I made the mistake to remove the acc shoe :bang: ). My problem is that I don´t know how to deal with the eyepiece. When the bezel is removed it is possible to push it into the body, but not far enough so that the cover may be removed. Can anyone advice me?

you have to remove the screws from the eyepiece and just unscrew, as far as I can remember. there was a good link somewhere. If I find it I will post it here

I have removed the outer bezel by just unscrewing it. But there is still a part sticking out through the cover. I can push it inside so that it is almost possible to remove the cover but I would need to push it about 1 mm further in to be able to lift the cover without problem. Since this is the part you rotate to adjust diopter I don´t think it should be unscrewed? I could try to push it a bit harder but then I would like to know that it is the correct way.

O, okay, I did just what you did. you can turn this diopter adjustment untill it goes inside as much as it can. Removing the top was a little tough because a bit was still sticking out a little, but it worked fine. Did you remove all the other things like RF window and so on?

Remove the outer bezel, twist the bit that's left and push in as far as possible. It does come off after that (with the other screws and bezels and the RF adjusting wedge out). It's a tight fit over the VF but it will come off with some easing and care. Don't lose the washer sitting immediately behind the cover and over the VF window! easily overlooked...

Thank you for your help!
It did come off, but I had to use rather brute force. Now I only have to put it together again....
