A little eye candy for you all as thanks for answering my questions about Leica's.

I took this photo shortly after I met Reni Burri in Pingyao, China, a few months ago during the Pingyao International Photography festival. It was great, I met a lot of great photographers there and never have I seen so many Leica's around....shocking.

By the way, my girlfriend and I were sitting at a table and he walked into the building to have a rest himself and sat at the table next to ours and make a crack comment to me about my girlfriend and I looking cute sitting there. funny guy. Spent a little while talking to him, he sat there the entire time smoking a big cigar.

Yeah, take notice that he has his trusty old Leica around his neck, also what looks to be a HP digital camera.

Enjoy and thanks :)

hm.........I guess not many people know who Reni Burri is...

He is probably my favourite photographer. I have a photo of his on my wall - taken in China in the sixties. I know someone else who met him in China (the photographer Keith Cardwell), I guess he spends a lot of time there.

A true great in my eyes - if you don't know him, buy his monograph now!

For those that don't, I highly recommend the book "Magnum Stories", for both the photos and the stories. It is an excellent book on the art and inspiration of photography.

You'll come to appreciate Reni Burri, and tons of other Magnum photographers (and yeah, a lot of them use Leica's).

(I love the photo, btw)

Congrats for your photo. Its one great photograph. Many portraits of Cartier Bresson was taken by him. Probabbly one of the most famous photograph are the portraits of Che Guevara in Cuba.

A great portrait as well, not only for contents but also for continent, you captured a great characther there, congrats !!!

A friend of mine met him in (I guess) France some months ago and she told me the same, a kind and funny guy :)

I just did a little search on the web for him, I couldnt believe how little I found. Everything I know about him is from books and magazines, its kinda funny how little has translated to the web!
