Sadly in my neck of the woods there seems to be no darkroom space for hire. Thru the years I have accumulated some components. I really fear to set it up as tales of poison chemicals and just not knowing what I don't know concerning techniques and missing equipment:confused:has held me back. A pubic wet dark room would sure be a great thing. but Saint Petersburg/Tampa in these parts isn't the center of culture some imagine it to be.

If you are patient, or lucky, you should be able to get everything you want/need for shipping costs, or just carrying it out of someone's house.

Ask around photo shows, or dealers.

I hear all the time about someone wanting to just get someone to haul out thousands of $ of equipment--

Probably little in current B&W chemistry, or RA4, or C41 that is something to be feared as Toxic-- put in ventilation, use tongs, -- and only buy gluten free all natural organic chemistry. ;-)

I never was all that handy, but my dry side of the darkroom was built with 2x4s, 1x6s, and a very inexpensive pre fab counter top from home depot-- the enlarger sits on an old free standing kitchen cabinet, -- I did buy a nice darkroom sink, though, prior to that I made a counter top and glued down some scrap vinyl flooring --

Brand New APO enlarging lenses just sit at camera shows--

Probably the easiest time to put a darkroom together-- just jump in--

When I began to print color (RA4) I stopped mixing my own chemistry, and just bought some from a local lab from what they mixed up for their processor-- the chemistry lasts a long time, you can replenish the developer and blix almost just by topping up what is carried over and washed away-- terrific simple process--

Surprised this was not "moved" to a less prominent location-- I guess "news" is in the eye of the beholders?
