Howdy, im going to be back in Seattle (where im from) next month and would like to maybe rent some equipment when im there. I am wondering if there is any shops in the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia area that is good for renting camera stuff. Im going to be interested in renting a leica m6/m7/mp and maybe a hasselblad or some wide format stuff and lenses for a few days. Any web pages or information would be great. Im most worried about price I guess, a few years ago I was in Vancouver BC and there was this great shop that had a huge sigma 800 lens in front and some neat gear inside but their prices seemed pretty steep. Rent for 10 days and I could buy the damn leica for that much.

Seattle's Freemont district is home to a very cool piece of FSU gear, by the way- a 15+ foot tall statue of Lenin.

Glazer's (Seattle) has a pretty extensive rental selection (but no Leica) http://glazerscamera.com/files/rentals.pdf. Prices are pretty fair, especially considering if you pick it up on Friday after 3pm, you can return it before 10am on Monday for the price of a one day rental. Glazer's is the only one I am familiar with in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

I would speak to Mark Vercammen. He's all things Leica there. Eventhough you may not be able to rent one there or a rangefinder he might be able to point you to the right direction. markv@glazarscamera.com

Sounds like Leo's. It's the only place I know of that rents RF stuff, but it's only Voigtlander, no Leica. They are not expensive, especially if you rent on weekends when you get three shooting days for a one day charge.
I just compared Leo's prices to Glaziers - it's almost exactly the same for most stuff but Leo's is in Canuck bucks and therefore cheaper.
If you can arrange some loaner gear through Glaziers that would be the ticket!
Good luck!
