My recently bought FED2 has two curtain "holes". Their not holes in the normal sense, it is more like the 2nd layer of the curtain is missing, in both curtains.
I thought in two ways of dealing with it, one was to put a small bit isolator black scotch-tape, the ones used in the electrical wires, or paint the affected areas with a black paint.
But my common sense says that these ideas may damage the camera, so I decide to ask you what to do.
Of course that, substitution of the curtain, made by me, is not an option, at least now.

If you really want to do it that way, I'd try black fabric paint, sold in hobby and craft stores. The best way of fixing the problem is to go to Microtools and get a replacement curtain and tapes though. http://www.micro-tools.com/ However, if the thought of doing this scares the hell out of you, then you can send it to Oleg and have him do it for you. http://www.okvintagecamera.com/cameras.html

You can also track down Eddy Smolov in Brooklyn. I find his work excellent and reasonably priced. He's a little tough to understand on the phone because he still has an Eastern European accent, but his work is good. MB
