repair for Nikkor 135/3.5 LTM Early MIJ f32 model

Hi everyone. I am not a regular participant here but I have the above lens in excellent cosmetic condition except it has broken aperture blades. They are clearly not aligned correctly and only open and close partially with the opening no longer symmetrical in any aperture ring position. Is it likely that the aperture blade positioning mechanism is broken and needs replacement or is it likely that this can this be repaired by disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly? if replacement is my only option, I assume that I will have to find a donor lens with working blade mechanism but in much worse cosmetic condition.

Welcome to RFF. You have a fine lens there. The only one I might suggest is John Van Stelten at Focal Point in Colorado. He has worked on several lenses for me and is very good. The problem here is that it will likely cost you $200 for a lens that can be bought used in nice condition for $150. That's what I paid Igor's last year for a very clean early Nikkor 135mm f3.5 with case and finder. Good Luck. Joe

I fixed a Canon 50/1.4, wasn't too difficult for me but I've done many other SLR lenses before diving into more exotic/scarce LTM stuff.
