Hello.

I own a Minolta 5400 scanner (version I) which needs service. The issue is that the holder does not advance smoothly from side-to-side of the frame and some parts of the image are not scanned properly. It also makes a funny noise, it's clearly a mechanical problem. Sony discontinued maintenance of Konica-Miinolta equipment since 1 Jan 2011 (bad timing for me!). I approached the shop where I bought the scanner as well as other repair shops around me but with on luck.

Do you know a place in Europe where they could repair this scanner? I live in Luxembourg.

Thanks,

Arturo

In Switzerland an ex Konica Minolta technician set up his own service/repair business and also bought a lot of parts. Maybe the same happened in Luxembourg? Why not ask the Sony service department there.

Thanks for your answer. Actually, I did. The scanner seller forwarded me to Konica-Minolta who forwarded me to some Runtimecontract.biz in Germany. I wrote them some days ago but they did not reply yet.

On his website he mentions analog cameras, I don't know if scanners are within his expertise. The website is in German.

There is also Sertronics which is the outsourced repair service for Sony in several European countries. Perhaps they can help you?

Sony offers repairs on all Minolta imaging equiment, won't hurt to call the nearest service center. For Luxembourg, that's probably Sony Belgium.

My Scan Elite II was repaired very well, and relatively cheap by Sony Netherlands.
