Hi Folks,

Well, the Minox 35 GTE I "won" off Evay to replace the one I already had that was having shutter problems also has shutter problems--lost 5 out of 25 pictures last roll. It's a great camera, otherwise, and I want to get it fixed. Do you have any suggestions for who can fix the dreaded shutter problem on one of these? Thanks.

Usually it is a sticky shutter blades problem... On a previous minox el I had I managed to clean the blades after dissasembling from the front.
If you have the skill and time, maybe you can give it a try..

It can however be a electronic problem, and that is way harder to fix...

For $35 DAG repair seems fair and safe :)

Regards

Thanks for the comments. If I opened the camera and tried to clean the shutter blades, I would probably destroy them and not be able to put it all back together again. I've sent an email to DAG, so hopefully that will work out.

The 35GTE has front cell focus; it moves the front lens element with respect to the other three. This also means that minute amounts of extension are required to focus from far to near. Suffice to say disassembling will not be a problem, but putting it together again and having correct focus is somewhat more of a challenge.. especially if you don't have the proper tools. Trust me on this one.. go for a $35 fix.
