Marty Forscher, who was credited as being the most sought-after camera repair man in the US, has died aged 87. Forscher's famous clients included photographers Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz and Joel Meyerowitz. He ran the Professional Camera Repair Service in Manhattan for more than 40 years, reported ~ The New York Times. sad day, and there are not too many of these guys left, I'm sure some of you - over there will remember Marty.

Let's hope that the remaining "national treasures" stay alive as long as possible. We lost our Rolleiflex guy here in Australia a couple of years ago (Jürgen Henning). I hope that at least some of these guys/gals have apprentices.
