I just received a box-lot of camera bodies from e-bay: a coupkle of Minoltas, and a Miranda Sensorex.

The Miranda is in nice shape, with a clear 50 mm lens. Only issue seems to be with the shutter-speed dial: shutter fires as though set at "B", and when you turn the shutter-speed dial, it feels like it's trying to "wind a spring"...

I don't feel any detent notches, and even holding the speed dial at a given speed, the shutter stills fires as "B"...

Are there any techs out there who specialize in Miranda ?

😕

Are you sure the ASA part of the dial is set? It needs to be set in place before changing shutter speeds.

Beyond that I have no idea.

I seem to remember the Sensorex shutter speed dial having a very slight "mushy" feel as if it was not actually directly connected to the speed setting mech. but, instead, connected via a cable rather than a gear train. If this is correct, it could be that the speed setting mechanism is stiff or frozen and the remotely connected dial is mearly "pulling its chain" without actually changing anything. The wind-side portion of the top cover would have to be removed to investigate.
