Replace felts on bulk cassettes?

OK, so I'm bulk loading film again after a long digital hiatus, and I purchased some of the old plastic reloadable 35mm cartridges from Freestyle I used to use back in the day. Problem is, unlike my old cartridges which I gave away years ago, these are terribly made! Specifically, on all five of the cartridges I purchased the felt on the non-emulsion side simply slides out when drawing out the film leader--there's nothing holding it in at all!

Anyhow, now I'm wondering a) if it is worth the effort to try and reglue the felts in the cassettes, and b) how to go about it without sabotaging the Tri-X I'm loading into them. Any ideas?

Yes, I am both that cheap and that reluctant to troll the minilabs of West Virginia looking for freebees. 🙂

An option, if you have a Leica of course, is the reloadable cassettes they make. Getting more difficult to find of course, but they are about. I have some others as well, need to find out what brands.
I know it hasn't answered your question though. Me? I'd troll the mini-labs, sorry, LOL.
