Flimsy thing that it is, I`d like to replace it but I don`t want to reinvent the wheel either.
Personally I would prefer a knob like on previous models but honestly, anything would be an improvement on the cheap toy-like thing that came with it.
Has anyone done this same thing?
Thanks,
John

OK, I took things into my own hands and performed a bit of surgery.
It seems the tiny stainless flat spring (under the handle) that keeps the handle locked in place was bent / unsprung causing my re- winder handle to flop around. I can now live with it since it works as new.

Hi John. I didn't see your first post, but I'm glad to see that youv'e got it sorted out.
I've heard of these things breaking before, though worse than yours. It seems to be a weak point on the 4AM.
Someone once replaced one with a winder from an olympus.

Hi Pitxu,
I was about to do that myself but I decided to try this first.
Thanks for the reply.

In principle the re-wind knob of the Oly 35 RD fits, after some filing of the Kiev thread and circular basis. You can check eBay from time to time ("Olympus 35RD parts"), or play with what you may have at home.

Cheers,
Ruben
