Replacement Batteries and charger

Hey guys, anyone know where i could get my hands on an additional battery? as well as a back-up charger? mine got... damaged thanks to a lovely roommates pet. and i dont know how to get another one. or.. where i should say.

any help would be greatly appreciated

The battery for the RD-1 is apparently the same as the Fuji NP-80 and Kodak KLIC-3000 battery.

These can be found on ebay relatively cheap (about $9 ea. with shipping), but I have yet to find one that is above 1400 mAh. The one B&H sells for $29 (pricey... made by CTA and is listed under accessories when you search for the Epson RD-1 on their site... I naively bought one) is only 1300 mAh (B&H describes them as being 1350 mAh). It is compatible, and although I haven't timed it, probably doesn't last as long as the one that shipped with the camera which is rated at 1500 mAh.

As to chargers, haven't fully investigated yet, but you could search for third party chargers that charge the NP-80 or KLIC-3000 battery.

Depends whether you want Originals.. I have a couple of new Epson Originals If you are interested.. as for chargers you should be able to find a Fuji one cheaply.
there is also a thread I believe started by Shaun about a month ago dealing with different batteries for the RD-1, I believe he found another brand which was cheaper and worked well.

Mike, thanks for the link to the thread. I found the 1500 mAh now. Guess we never heard otherwise if they were bad or not, so assume they were good.

Cheap chargers are available, but they all seem to be the "two-piece charger and fat ac adaptor" type. Any suggestions for the smaller (and perhaps slower charging) type similar to what shipped with the R-D1? I tried searching for Fuji's BC-80 charger which seems like one piece plus ac cord, but prices for that are ridiculous!

If youre not in a rush I'll have a look at the shops overhere theres usually a couple in the bargain boxs, Lots of gadgets that use the Fuji type of batteries. I have seen them go for 10-15 $ and as you are in the states the voltage doesn't matter!
BC-80 types and theres an even more compact version which is a box that is about half that of the epsons that has the swing out plug, that you place the whole box+bat in to the wall socket. very compact and portable.

that would be really quite perfect, because despite the fact i really need it, i do have to wait until i have more money. so if you could spot one out for me i would be greatly appreciative, i could pay you via paypal also.

Sterlingtek batteries seem to be working at least as well as OEM.
