Does anyone have a suggestion for a battery? By this I mean the generic equivalent, to the epson battery, and hopefully less expensive and just as good.
sebastel
coarse art umbrascriptor
using Hähnel HL-F80
no probs so far.
actually it is sold as replacement for fuji battery type NP-80, so probably also other replacements for fuji NP-80 may work. the same type was used by yashica, kodak, leica, ricoh and toshiba, but please don't ask me for the exact battery type names.

Ponsoldt, I don't know where you live, but if you're in the U.S., try www.greenbatteries.com. I've been buying NP-80 equivalents from them. They're 1500mAh batteries and as near as I can tell, identical to the battery that comes with the R-D1. They seem to work just as well as the Epson battery and hold a charge just as long. They go for $18.95. You can get NP-80 replacements for less than that, but I've dealt with greenbatteries for several years and I've never had a problem with their products. I have a bunch of D100 battery replacements too, and they've been excellent.

Here's a 1650 mAh that out performs the original for $14 http://www.cameraworld.com/product/EP5497356.htm
