Hi,

I am very happy with my canon 35/1.5 lens, but it needs a front cap. I need to use the original canon 48mm slim UV on the lens. so common clip-in lens cap doesn't apply.

Any good suggestion for a lens cap?

Any lens cap from a late M42 Pentacon 50mm lens or one from the M42 FSU Mir 37mm lens fits my Canon 35mm f1.5 lens.

I might have an original chrome 50mm cap. I have the chrome 85 1.9 and 135 3.5, both of which take 48mm filters. I have the slip on lens hood/cap for both, but think I picked up a regular cap somewhere along the way.

Just gotta find it...

Schneider made a good hard rubber cap that slipped over lenses with 48mm threads. Worked great on my 50mm f/1.4 Canon then worked even better on my Schneider 65mm Super Angulon. They aren't common but they certainly aren't expensive when you find them.

I got one of those too about a week ago. They tend to slip off as easy as they slip on. With the metal ones you can make them a little bit tighter with some judicious manipulations.
