replacement of rubber eyepiece thingy

I believe it is 19mm in diameter, with the same thread pitch as the Bessa and R-D1S. If so, then the Nikon eyepiece that fits it is the same one for the Nikon FM/FE series (don't know the part #). If you decide to add an eyecup (I have one on every camera body I own), then it's the Nikon DK-3.

You can the buy eyepiece (and eyecup) at B&H, Adorama, Bocaphoto and other retailers.

I have taken little rubber O rings & 4 drops of super glue at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o clock on the view finder ring. Press the O ring on looks great & no more scratches. Have done it on my M5 & M4. Cost is about .5 cents.

Be careful with that super glue. I did this on my Bessa and now the outer-most clear plastic part of the eyepiece has some chemical marks at the edges. That's with out the super glue actually touching it...something to do with out-gassing from the glue. I'll probably have to replace that whole piece if I decide to sell it, although it's only cosmetic. I don't notice it in use.
