Does anyone have any experience at replacing the Leica CL take-up spool? My camera has two of the five 'prongs' missing which can lead to variable frame spacing. I managed to pick up a replacement on ebay (pretty rare, I'm guessing) and so now I would like to fit it.
Could anyone tell me what is involved in this? I dare say the removable back helps, but I have no idea how much work is required.

Another recommendation for Sherry Krauter. Does great work, is very knowledgeable, and is willing to talk shop. Give her a call rather than e-mail for prompt service. Brought my dropped CL back to factory specs.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. Given it's a straight swap, new part for old, and the spool is not hidden away or linked to too many other parts, I has hoping to perform the labour myself. Perhaps Sherry/Peter would be able to describe the operation, but if anyone has done it themselves, do let me know!
I will be contacting these two anyway, as I'm looking for someone who can deal with a (presumed) decentered lens. Ffordes gave me a quote of £55 which sounds reasonable, providing it actually solves the problem with my 28mm Ultron.

From my conversations in the past with Peter, I'm sure he'd talk you through it. He usually seems to have more than enough work on for himself anyway. He's also serviced lenses for me.
Another person you could contact in the UK is Malcolm Taylor. Along with Peter, he has an excellent reputation and knowledge of all things Leica, including repairs he's done for the Leitz collection. I don't have his contact details but he usually advertises in the back of Amateur Photographer. He's done some repairs for me in the past and given me a part by part account of exactly what he's done. I once dropped into the now defunct "Museum Cameras" in London and mentioned his name. There were raised eyebrows and the proprietor said. "Oh yes, we know Malcolm very well. He's the guy who took the Leica Luxus apart on his kitchen table...!"

This is an easy changeout.
The part needs to be obtained, and the best source is DAG. Ooops, I see you already bought one.
The bottom plate needs to be removed and the mechanism then becomes obvious for the part swap out.
I've done it myself.

before I asked what next after getting the plate off, I figured that out but am still stuck...
After I removed the bottom plate, I removed the rubber thingy to expose a screw, I removed the screw holding the rewind pawl, removed the plastic battery terminal plate (then the corroded black wire came off of the terminal, the meter did work before, not now) slipped the cog out of the fork that powers the shutter(?) now what? does that brass thing unscrew with some spanner or such?
