Obviously, I'm somehow careless with my photo equipment — well, having four children and a tomcat (all of them having a strength that some consider to be preternatural, but to an extent the region where we live is eventually not unlike Beacon Hills, California) means that things get broken.

O.K., my Yashica FX-3 Super 2000: Where can one find a replacement top cover? (No such things on Ebay, at the moment.)

If the genuine part cannot be found, can someone tell me a workaround, please?

(Of course something made of 1 kilogram of brass would be a lot better, considering the aforementioned conditions 🙂)

Thank you 🙂

Thank you 🙂

Unfortunately, albeit inside Europe, the postage makes it more expensive than a spare part sent from Japan, or USA.

Additionally: If I'd buy a whole camera, there wouldn't be the desired pedagogical value, IMHO.
In other words: I'd prefer to show my brats that damaged goods can be fixed, instead of just completely replaced by another item. — And of course, they will have to screw it together, such a cruel Daddy am I 😉

Thank you 🙂

Watch out that the US and Japanese sellers don't secretly have outrageous shipping costs to abroad. I once paid upward of 100€ in FedEx handling charges for a $6 Minimoog key from California. Really nasty if the seller opts for some "recipient pays" scheme where you are not charged (or even quoted a fee) at any time during the purchase or delivery - you only get sent a enormous bill days after you received the item.

Ouch! Thank you for the heads up!
