FYI: Henri Cartier-Bresson's "Decisive Moment" is being reprinted and scheduled for release sometime around October 2014. It is being listed by Amazon for pre-order at a reduced rate of just under $100.

Holy moses... This is interesting. I do love the Matisse cover (my copy doesn't have it). What will this mean for the current copies out there today? Will prices drop?

Hmmm, I just saw an exhibition of Matisse Art Books yesterday at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. I don't think they included that one. I wish they had!

Amazon is offering a "lowest price guarantee" for the pre-order, so buy now and you'll get the lowest price anyway.

Prices of the earlier versions probably won't drop. This isn't a digital camera.

I think book collectors - can't really call them bookies ... that's another type of person - usually go for first editions.

Collectors go after first editions. Even if, somehow, the reprint matched exactly the first edition (same paper, ink etc.), the latter would still be preferable to a collector. Good thing there's a reprint coming up for the rest of us. Steidl is probably one's best bet when it comes to compare with the publishing legend of Teriade. I just hope they go ahead with the publishing schedule in a more timely (*ahem*) manner than e.g. Minutes to Midnight.

The pre-order is in ( though I don't 100% trust Amazon to deliver - the failed and cancelled my Life's a Beach Martin Parr pre-order a year or so ago )

I put a pre-order in with Amazon and a "notify when available" signal in The Book Depository" as soon as I heard of the upcoming printing. Yes, I want this book, and I couldn't afford a first edition... 🙂
