I have been using the VC 25mm Skopar on my R-D1 when I want to approximate the 35mm field of view. I tend to shoot wide open, and at f4 I haven't been happy with the results.
I would love to see some examples of the 25mm Biogon @ f2.8 on a R-D1. Close focus with a busy background would be a plus.

Give me until Saturday morning and Flickr will be stuffed full of them - have a shiny new (silver) Biogon waiting for me at home

Zen-Shooter: Thank you - you delivered on the money.
Terao: I'm off to add you as a Flickr contact. I look forward to seeing more. Please be sure to tag them as "Zeiss Biogon 25mm f2.8" and add them to the M-Mount Group

Robert, here you go
All @ f/2.8 not very exciting

Some real world examples although most are also messing about test-shooting it:

I'm VERY pleased with it
I like the colour rendition and the way it handles contrast, and can definitely confirm its silly sharp out to the edges, even reasonably wide open.

Kiloran - sorry for the delay in responding. I can certainly see why you are so pleased with the lens. I really like the fingerprint @ f2.8.
Now it's time for me to do a little lens consolidation for a Biogon fund

Terao - you're far too modest - that b/w shot of the boats in the mist is beautiful!

Cheers
Its a regular location of mine, handy as its just down the road and offers a nice range of subjects close by. I guess as a result I've seen the shots too many times and have taken better ones there (e.g.

Ah, my chosen method for getting to the IOW. Getting the train down from Brockenhurst and going into Yarmouth rather than Cowes makes it feel like the 1970s to me
(mainly because it still is the 1970s over there
)
