Hi Folks,

I bought the Bessa R and 35mm 2.5 skopar deal from Stephen recently, and loved the camera immediately. But after shooting my first roll of film--a 24 count--I loaded up my second roll and found the frame counter did not reset. Now I'm going past the 36 with half a roll left. What did I do wrong so the film counter failed to reset? Also, is it a problem to keep shooting past the 36, like is that going to cause problems? Any guidance would be appreciated here.

Thanks. --John

Bang it a bit (literally but not too hard). Sometimes it does stick a bit.
You should also check the door because the trick to self resetting film counters is a pin on the door which disengages when you open it to reload. The pin/switch is located in the upper right part of the light trap groove. Check if the switch moves smoothly, if not you may have a broken spring. Also try to prick it with some kind of toothpick stuff.

Hope it helps.
