A question from a newbie: is it a myth or is it true than resizing in small steps is better than one single huge resize from, let's say 2600 px to 600?
And, if so, how many steps for a good time/quality compromise? And do you sharpen after every single resize of just resize and after the last resizing do you sharpen all at once?
I tried to do this way and it seems to me that I have to sharpen more in the first steps and less and lesser in the final resizing steps (let's say from 2600 to 2400 I add a 50 sharpening, in the final from 800 to 600 I add 10/15, I use sharpening in GIMP)
I googled all the night but such a simple question is not ever mentioned in the photo-oriented howtos on the web.
