I have a very nice case for a "nearly" mint camera. there are some minor areas that need to be restiched...not a lot but some. anybody here know where someone that can do this kind of work? I could provide pics if necessary.

You need to see if there's a good cobbler in your area or, even better, someone who repairs handbags, luggage etc. Good luck finding one these days.

I took the case to a cobbler who told me that 1) the leather is somewhat dried and he felt that he might make it a worse repair for trying 2) cobbler needles too large and thick. the rollei case stitching is quite fine . 3) the owner and cobbler repairs a lot of handbags etc.
I"ll keep looking and maybe someone will have an appropriate referral.

It sounds like you really want to do it so it looks perfect. I'm just thinking you might be able to stitch the affected places together yourself, at least enough to keep it from getting worse. But I admit -- joining together two pieces of thick leather at a right angle is difficult, to say the least.
About the only sewing I've ever done (and not well at all) is stitching back together a sewup bicycle tire after fixing a puncture. Required linen thread and a triangular cross-section needle. Misery.

Given that the stitch holes are there, it's not an impossible task to repair. Check this

The unstitched place will definitely get worse if I use the case. It's in a stress location. It's actually quite nice looking case so hoping to have it repaired.
the typical clips are riveted and inside the case. the leather is tearing. I think that could be remediated with a glue that would bond with leather.
My guess that a repair job is AT LEAST what it costs for another similar (overall nice) case on ebay. But then Id have sift through all the crappy cases to find one that would last.
