Restoring and repairing books

I received this wonderful release Modern Color by Fred Herzog.
Sadly it came badly damaged.

It must have gotten a massive blow to one of the sides since all the pages throughout are crumbled up like shown in the pictures.
I don't mind the cover damage, it's the pages I would like to repair. Any tips? Anybody has experience with book restoration?

i've talked with book conservators about everyday damage like this, and they generally don't even bother dealing with dented modern hardcovers. however, your best option is to iron the pages with steam and gently work out the crinkles with a burnishing tool. both steps should be done with a thin sheet of paper in between. then put it under a book press for as long as it helps. a stone slab can substitute.
