Restoring Sanity and Keeping Fear Alive Rallies

Yes, it appears that I will indeed be going, as it was mentioned by my wife that we're definitely going! So that takes care of that. Regardless, I suppose that I'll get to see what the rally looks like through the lens of a tlr ( and a Bessa ).

I'm trying to think of a way to take the Rolleiflex, but I'm having a hard time with that. The camera bag is already pretty full, and don't want to leave any of the three I've already picked out. The XA will probably creep in, anyway, just because it always does.

Yeah, I understand. My Rolleiflex is the first camera I go to these days - I just can't seem to get enough of it. In addition, whenever I have a 35mm with me, I always seem to use the 'flex, so my guess is that the majority of my shots will be in a square format.

Oprah keeps calling...they have extra seats on her bus...I keep telling her "No" but she one tough cookie...

Hey - what film are you guys going to bring? I'm bringing some Tri-X and HP5+ in medium format, and the same plus a roll or two of Fomapan 200 in 135. I'm also going to bring a couple of rolls of Extar in case I want any color shots. I haven't decided if I'm going to bring anything slower in 120 or not, but may just in case it's bright and sunny that weekend. It's been about 5 years since I've been in DC, and almost 15 since I've been there in the Fall.

im bringing Kodachrome and some Legacy pro 400, i dont have much of either film left, but i figure i should shoot it at something like this rather then ending up wasting it on something else.

im contimplating bringing the crown graphic to the rally, but i think ill end up passing on that and shoot more 35mm.

I'm on my way to the rally. I'm driving from Austin and will get there by end of day Friday.

I got my M4 w/ CV21/4, 35mm 'cron ASPH, and 90/2.8 plus 'blad w/ 80mm. I brought just about one roll of every film I had in the house as I'm testing a few things out.

I'll be the guy w/ longish hair, an M4 and a 'blad. Say hi if you see me.

I was hoping to go, but can't work it out. i'm looking forward to lots of images being posted here.

Hope everything goes well for those in attendance.

I shot the Seattle one but it turns out my shutter wasnt closing all the way. No shots from me; I binned the roll after finding out Id just rewound wide open. :/This is my 4th trip in a row where I failed at getting anything.

The others were motivation or lack of interesting subjects. Frustrating, blowing a great shooting environment like today.

Edit: Oh, and I saw people shooting:

- Leica M (not sure which).
- Mamiya 645
- Nikon F and FT
- Pentax Spotomatic

...in addition to all the regular digital cameras. I was impressed.

Unbelievably crowded. A good time. I'll post few pix in the morning. Long day. Left by bus at 4:30am and arrived home at 12:30am.
