Well, I unfortunately missed the recent FSU contest, due to being bedridden with my ongoing spinal issues, but I felt well enough last week to get up and outside, so I brought my lovely FED 2 and Zorki-4 along with me for some (long overdue) testing. Yesterday I developed the film; my first home developing in 35 years! I had so much fun, and I must say the results pleasantly surprised me; I guess I just wasn't expecting such nice images from cameras made over a half century ago. And wow, that Sunny 16 rule really works!

All were taken a short distance from my home on Fogo Island, off the northeast coast of Newfoundland. I used Ilford Delta 100 Professional, developed in Ilfosol 3, then scanned the negatives with my new Epson V600. The first three images are from the FED 2 with an Industar 26 lens, and the last three from the Zorki-4 with an Industar 61.

I can hardly wait to get back outside with my trusty FSU's!

Glen

I'd say that you did a marvelous job of developing! Really impressive and considering how long since your last home developing, quite a feat!

congratulations for your excellent job!
I own a Fed 3 and a Zorki 4 and I really love them; I have also read that the rigid Industar 50- f 3.5 is excellent (even if it is considered the ugliest lens), I will soon test it with a colour film.
Enjoy your cameras, and thanks for sharing your work with us.
Bravo!!!

Very fine pictures indeed. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of your new cameras.
I see summer was held on the Rock last week! When does the weather start to set in on Fogo?

Heard in St Johns........

It was 1948 and a fisherman was plying his trade in the Straight of Belle Isle. The Captain of a Canadian Coast Guard cutter spied him and decided to have some fun with the old boy. The Captain pulled out a bull horn and shouted to the fisherman:
"Hey there, you are in trouble for taking Canadian fish!"

The old fisherman was unperturbed, and yelled back: "Not at all, Cap'n. I'm only taking Newfoundland fish"

Confused, the Coast Guard Captain asked "So how do you know the difference?"

The fisherman laughed "Well, Cap'n, I throws back the ones wit' the big mouths!"

Cheers,
Dez

Good for you Glen. You've definitely got a couple of winners there. And it's a good thing. The little FSU's are going to have to be on their best game to keep up with the quality images of your website. Enjoyed them all. Looks like a beautiful place to live.

Ah yes, lovely. I really need to go back. But apparently you haven't lost your knack for developing! Congrats. More, please!

Oh my goodness!... I am humbled by so many kind comments regarding my attempt to develop my own film; very much appreciated! Here are a few more images from my lovely Zorki-4. Quite the little Russian performer, it turns out!

Many thanks again!
