From what I have seen, this heliopan filter has rendered the best blacks yet. It is the Heliopan Digital UV-Infrared slim version filter. Looking at the filter straight on, it has a greenish tint. Looking at an angle, it is red.

These two shots were shot in raw format. No correction whatsoever other than Auto when using camera-raw. I for one always have a filter on the lens, It looks like this will be the replacement filter for me.

Does it always make spouses annoyed that you are taking "yet another picture!"?

:D Just what I was thinking... Thanks for sharing Jorge. It's nice to see the filter does a good job at sorting things out.

Wow, nice result! I'm tempted to try one of these on my R-D 1, just to see if it "cleans up" the image a bit (as some on the Leica forum have suggested.)

Jorge, can you quote a specific model number for the filter you got?

[Later -- Oh, well, moot point, B&H is out of stock on all but the 52mm size. I guess Leica M8 owners now are buying up every IR filter extant!]

Joshua, no its not. The filters Ken sent are not cutting the IR. This is a different one as describe in the top of the thread.

very interesting results

very interesting results

Does the filter still let in a red IR dot from a tv remote with buttons pressed?

where did you get these filters? and would mind also sharing the cost

It needs a dedicated profile to get the balance just so, but great! Where are my filters. I ordered them more than a week ago!:bang:

Jorge, I ordered a full set from Ken Hansen (yet to arrive) after you gave us a heads up re him, but if they don't cut the IR....? What the heck!
Steve

The filters that Ken has shipped me are not the IR ones. Ken is all bent out of shape with Heliopan and is resolving the problem. Helipona had told Ken that the UV filters with a Digital Analog label on the box would do the same job as the Digital filter. Obviously it does not. I am sending my filters back to Ken and he has no problems with that at all. In fact he is expecting people to return them. I think he is getting a bunch of the actual IR filters that I used last night.

my lenses are not coded.

Part Number ?

Part Number ?

Jorge ? Do you have the Part Number for the filter you used ?

I want to be sure and order the right ones.

Thanks
Mark

OK, thanx for the heads up re the filters from Ken. Had me scared there for a minute. Probably why mine haven't arrived from him yet.
