Oh, BTW anyone have a link to a manual that would cover the Weltax? I have tried 2 that I know about (free manuals) but neither has Weltar manuals available.
Thanks.
Ray
Craig Camera has one for $18. To tell the truth though, the manual for pretty much any folding camera with the same shutter will probably work just as well for the Weltax as it does for the camera it is meant for.

Thanks! It seems I am going deep into "info debt" with you Lol. I called Pacific Rim on the Isolette and it sounds too much for my ability and time.
However I found one locally which looks very nice and clean but its an Isolette I.....very basic camera, which appeals to me as a first time folder. When I get the Bessa and Weltax I will want you to walk me thru shutter cleaning on the Bessa, if its something a novice could do. Thomas said that slow speeds are a little slow and that sounds like cleaning & lubing.
Thanks again!!

You're welcome. Fixing up Pacific Rim's Isolette really wouldn't have been much more trouble than fixing up a more basic model though. Only thing really different is the rangefinder. You'd take off the top, spritz a little lighter fluid on the stuck gear, work it until it's loose, scrub it down with more lighter fluid and give it a drop of oil.
There is a way of cleaning the shutter on the Isolette that isn't too much trouble. I've got a photo of a Welta Perle I did a shutter cleaning job on recently, and I am using it for a restoration tutorial. You can certainly take it to this point without getting in over your head. Just remember to mark the relative positions of the lens elements and focusing ring -- unless you want to recallibrate the lens.
Anyway, at this point you have access to the shutter blades, nearly all of the gearing, pretty much everything but the pivot points for the blades and the diaphragm -- and opening the shutter gives you access to the diaphragm blades. Cleaning everything shown in the photo will cure all the ills of most shutters, 99% of the time. You just squirt a little lighter fluid on everything, scrub away with the brush, mop it all up with Q-tips, put a droplet of oil where needed (about a dozen places) and reassemble it. It isn't hard. BTW, in the photo, the blue line is pointing to a spring that has somehow become detached.
