Was there ever a book devoted to the Kodak Retina cameras?

There were a couple of books I can think of, The Retina Way by O.R. Croy, earliest versions cover the Ia and IIa I think with mention of earlier models too, and the latest ones the Retina IIIS. There was also the Retina Manual, by Edward S. Bomback. This covers the Retina Ib, IIc, & IIIc with mentions of earlier models. The Retina Guides from Focal Press cover pre-war models right through to the Automatic III in the various editions.

There's a nifty pocket-sized collector's guide by one Kalton Lahue that is very informative about the different models. Keep an eye out for it.
 
"Richtige Retina-Ratschläge" by Wolf H. Döring. A book with advice, from the 1930's.
 
The Focal Press guide to the Retina cameras, by W.D. Emanuel, in its several editions, is quite handy, as Chris already pointed out, but - at least judging from my experience - it isn't the easiest book to come by in the large series of manuals once published by Focal Press. If you want a broad model coverage, the later editions are preferrable.

In case you live in the US, it might be easier to find the Amphoto edition of W.D. Emanuel Retina Guide; Amphoto Focal Book was an imprint of the American Photographic Book Co., based in N.Y. The second edition was published in 1958; I suppose it must be more plentiful than any of the Focal Press successive editions released in the UK during the 1950s.
