Retina II type 142 differences?

Hi guys, new to the forum, with a question concerning the two type 142 Retina IIs that I have. One has a circle etched around the "II" on the top plate, the other doesn't. Different mfg dates?

All of the Retina models went through various changes throughout their life span.. I've seen other cameras with slight difference in appearance.
