Retina IIIC finder hazy

I have a Retina IIIc. The top cover is easy to take off. Pull up the rewind knob, you shoud see 2 small screws. To remove these, you will need unsrcew the rewind knob by locking something into the fork inside the film chamber.

There is a third screw for the top on the end by the meter. The top should slide up with some gentle rocking motion. Watch for various springs etc. as you gently lift it up.

Good luck,

Bill K.

Do you have the later model IIIC (big finder glass) or the IIIc (smaller finder)? The instructions given work for both, the IIIc is a little harder to get into. The IIIC is like my Retina IIIS, and is very accessible for cleaning.

IIIC (big C)...anything in particular I should be wary of in the way of the aforementioned springs and such?

Thanks!

Becareful of the shutter release and the film counter button. Not too bad otherwise. Note the position of the shutter release in case it falls out. It and the button that moves the counter (push button near the release) need to line up correctly before putting the cover back on.

So the film reset slider/button doesn't unscrew...just slide the cover up?

Never mind - I got it done. The meter knob had to come off on my camera...the ASA dial therein is on a wave spring and went pop when I took the pointer off so I didn't get a chance to note the exact position. Sort of winged it with another meter...we'll see 🙂

Thanks again,
