Retina & WWII

... although strictly speaking, this man's Retina seems to be a viewfinder model, rather than a rangefinder.

Quite a moving tribute, I must say. Registration takes 1 minute and you can go straight to the article (which is a photo essay)...

The only words are....

Drafted in World War II as a motion picture photographer for the U.S. Army, Phil Drell witnessed many historical events in Europe. In addition to his movie footage, he used his own Kodak Retina camera to document the war. A collection of those images is on display in an exhibit called "Through my eyes" at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie through May 31, 2007.
